Atabak Elmi is a Senior Lecturer at the Deakin University in Mathematics and
Optimisation. In 2014, he completed his PhD in Industrial Engineering at Dokuz
Eylul University. He previously held teaching and research positions at
Gaziantep University’s Department of Industrial Engineering (2014-2017), and
later at Monash University’s School of Mathematics and Faculty of Engineering
(2017-2020).

Through his experience and knowledge of manufacturing, production, and
transportation systems, he developed solutions to real-life planning and
scheduling problems in these systems. A variety of Artificial Intelligence and
Operations Research techniques as well as exact and approximate methods were
applied to develop these methods. He has extensive teaching experience in
operations research, project management and industry-oriented units.
